Sleep Better Workshop
Explore why sleeping well can be difficult and how to sleep better. Saturday, June 14th, 10am-1pm.
Service Description
Psychologist and author Arthur Ciaramicoli, formerly of Harvard Medical School, believes that better sleep is one of the ways we can relieve stress, however 66% of Americans in a recent study admitted to lying awake at night troubled by the physical or emotional effects of stress. International sleep expert, neuroscientist Matthew Walker has studied the impact of sleeplessness & found that just a few nights of poor sleep begins to cause deterioration in the brain, the immune system & the digestive system. Regular poor sleep doubles our chances of developing cancer and dementia. Many of us have developed unhelpful habits through lack of understanding about what our bodies need for regular good sleep. We also tend to lie awake worrying or planning, finding it hard to switch off our busy brains. With Natalie's classes and workshops you can learn to understand your own sleep pattern, how to optimise your body's own ability for good sleep & how to calm the brain ready for sleep. You will learn: *About the science of sleep *The science of mindfulness & how this can aid you in better sleep *Good sleep practice *About your natural rhythms & sleep stages *How to use simple breathing & relaxation techniques to encourage better sleep Mindfulness expert & Hypnotherapist Natalie Snuggs MSc., has helped hundreds of people over three decades to use the techniques which have helped her manage her own chronic illness & find ways to re-train the brain & body to reduce anxiety & maximise good quality sleep.
